Pictured below is an A4 Skyhawk that our display will resemble once completed. LCDR Gerry L. Stark will be the pilot honored. Gerry was sitting in his A4 when the fire initially broke out. Gerry, unfortunately was unable to escape his burning aircraft. Gerry's squadron at the time was VA-46 "The Clansmen".

Additionally, we will be displaying a Navy F4 Phantom next to the A4 Skyhawk. It will be painted in the VF-11 "Red-Ripper's" squadron of the 1967 WestPac cruise, like the one pictured below. Lt.(JG) Jim "Soupy" Campbell and his RIO Lt. Bud Dougherty will be the pilots honored. As this memorial grows it is our intention to add another F4 & A4 that will honor the VF-74 "Be-Devilers" and the VA-106 "Gladiators".

If you have any items you would be willing to donate/loan to the USS Forrestal Memorial organization please contact us. We are looking for flightgear such as pilots helmet, flightsuit, tow bars and any other aircraft support equipment that would have been used with the A4 Skyhawk and/or the F4 Phantom.

I would like to thank Dave Dollarhide for all the help and information he has provided to us along the way with this project.
Thank you Dave!

This is our proposed layout for the memorial. This is a rought draft, the final layout will have both planes planes banked 15 degrees nose up and banking 15 degrees to the left.

The following is our proposed monument centerpiece. It will be comprised of gray granite stone with black engraving.

The following photos are of the helmets that we will have displayed in the cockpits of the A4 Skyhawk and the F4 Phantom. Thanks to Paul Taylor at www.customflighthelmets.com for his superior quality of workmanship in replicating the VA-46 "Clansmen" & VF-11 "Red-Rippers" squadron designs. In the future we plan to display VA-106 "Gladiators" and VF-74 "Be-Devilers" full dressed pilots as well.

Thanks Paul
